Last Friday, I bought two pair running shoes from Asics namely Nimbus 25 and Kayano 29. As an avid runner, I often get asked about the variety of shoes in my collection.
Let me break down why each type is essential:
1. Speed tempo training shoe (like my Hoka Mach X): These are for fast-paced workouts. Light and responsive, they help me speed up.
2. Long-Distance shoe (like my new Asics Nimbus 25 ): With extra cushioning, they’re perfect for longer runs, providing comfort and support.
3. Recovery shoe (I use Hoka Clifton-retired): These offer additional cushioning for my feet to recover after intense workouts.
4. Racing shoe (such as my Hoka Carbon X2): Designed for competitions, they’re lightweight and enhance performance.
5. Trail running shoes (I use Hoka Challenger and Altra Olympus): Great for off-road running, they provide the necessary grip and stability.
6. Hill training shoes (my new Asics Kayano and Brooks Levitate): For hill runs on roads, these give the support and traction needed for inclines and declines.
7. Minimalist Shoes (like my very old Brooks Pure Flow and Pure Connect): These are for when I want a more natural running experience. They’re lightweight and flexible, promoting a more natural foot movement.

PS: I used to be supporter of Brooks and Hoka but recently move to cheaper Asics. Goggle yourself Asics Nimbus and Kayano for the price.
