During tennis match with my coach every Tuesday morning since 2023 , I learned the difference between playing to win and playing safe.

As an hashtag#accountant, I usually play it safe (striaght into middle of court) because that’s what I’m taught in accountancy study…hashtag#prudence and hashtag#consistency concept.

In club tennis, making fewer mistakes often means you win in higher probability

But …

I kept losing for months in single match with my coach because I played too safe.

I SUCK..Everything is SUCK on tennis court. This feeling SUCKS

Playing not to lose, feels like I am held back by invisible chains.

This year 2024 , I started playing more aggressively by playing deep, cross court, drop shoot. It worked, and I began winning.

Then my coach changed his game today, using more drop shoot and powerful kick serve. He beat me easily 6-0 4-1 today. hashtag#TMD hashtag#一招走江湖

While resting, I realized a big lesson: just being consistent doesn’t always work in tennis. You need good strategies.

Next week I will play more spinning, high ball and fast flat shot with him more apart my normal game plan.

This is true in careers and life too.
