KTP & Company PLT

Last Monday, my work organized an event where we rode ATVs. I told the OC that I wanted to try riding an e-bike off-road, something new for me.

I was really surprised when I found out a new Surron e-bike costs RM29,000. I went ahead and rode it through a place with lots of palm trees and across a river for about an hour and a half.

Here are what I think now on dirt e-bike:

1. It felt different
Riding the e-bike didn’t feel like regular biking because I missed hearing the sound of the engine. It just didn’t feel the same.

2. Might not get better at off road biking:
With the e-bike doing a lot of the work, I wondered if my biking skills would actually improve or just stay the same.

3. Not everyone likes e-bikes
I also thought about whether people who love traditional biking would accept me on an e-bike. Actually I don’t accept e-bike.

4. It’s really expensive
The e-bike costs as much as a new 250cc motorbike, which makes me question if it’s worth the money.

5. Not as much exercise
I didn’t have to work as hard physically on the e-bike, which made the ride less rewarding for me.

After trying it, I’m thinking I might not ride a dirt e-bike again.

I miss the usual sounds, effort, and feeling of regular dirt biking too much. Riding e-bikes just doesn’t seem to offer the same experience.
