KTP & Company PLT

I saw a Facebook post that really spoke to me about common problem new people at work often face.

It said, “When I started my job, the more experienced workers said, ‘Ask us anything 😊’. But when I asked, they seemed upset or told me to ask someone else 🤨. When I had to make choices alone and things didn’t go well, they asked, ‘Why didn’t you ask us?’ It felt like I couldn’t do right, whether I asked for help or not. Why can’t the experienced workers help us new ones better? 😭”

This happens a lot to people who are new to a job.

But, importantly, the FB post proposed a practical and effective approach for newcomers with a technique as “constructive discussion” :

1. Self-Initiative:
Face challenges head-on by thoroughly researching the problem at hand. Strive to understand the issue and seek out solutions independently.

2. Preparation and analysis:
Develop a well-rounded understanding of why a particular solution is apt for the problem.

3. Engagement and collaboration
Once you’re equipped with solutions and understanding, arrange a meeting with your seniors. Present your findings, articulate your understanding, and seek their advice on its feasibility.

A bold statement “I don’t know!” does not work in hashtag#ktp culture.

This method isn’t just about solving problems; it’s about fostering a culture of mutual collaboration. It encourages newcomers to be proactive.
