Do you know I used to ride from Kulai to Taman Molek via Desaru Highway to work from 2016 to 2017? Despite what it might seem, I’m not an extreme biking hardcore hashtag#cyclist.
I only stopped from cycling to work when on the highly publicised road accident that killed eight teenagers riding modified bicycles on a highway.
But now…
I ride my bike to lunch wearing my work clothes, and many people are curious about it.
Let me explain the reasons:
1. In my workplace at Taman Molek, finding a parking spot during lunchtime is really tough.
It’s much easier to just hop on my bike and go.
2. I have a collection of four different types of bikes – a road bike for speed, a mountain bike for rough terrains in trail, a time trial bike for triathlon, and a touring bike for comfortable santai santai long rides.
My home does not have enough space to store all these bikes, so I have to be creative with how I use them.
3. The touring bike stays at my office. This way, I can use it to ride out for lunch.
If I kept it hidden away in a storeroom, I will end up spending a lot of money on replacing accessories and parts upon usage.
Riding to lunch is just a practical choice for me.
Again when you see my cycling on office attire in Taman Molek, show me mercy and understanding. 😏
