Ten years ago, I embarked on a transformative journey by taking up running.
The catalyst for this life-altering decision was a combination of factors that had accumulated over the years.
Having been a heavy smoker for two decades, I realized the urgent need to break free from this harmful habit. My sedentary lifestyle, devoid of any exercise, had taken a toll on my health, and I felt compelled to make a change.
Entering a MID-LIFE crisis phase, I yearned for a fresh start.
Running offered not only physical rejuvenation but also mental peacefulness. It was a simple yet powerful way to regain control of my life.
The turning point came when I committed to running my first half marathon, the Standard Chartered KL which I clocked an impressive 2:01 minutes finishing time.
This event served as my goal, motivating me to lace up my running shoes, step out of my comfort zone.
A decade later, I can confidently say that running has not only transformed my health but become my lifestyle.
Now I am a ultra runner, ironman and moutaineer.
