This is the message on my door before you enter my room.
I (my managers as well) don’t just give answers to my employees. Giving answers is like feeding them once; they don’t learn to solve problems themselves.
When an employee has a problem, I (my managers as well) don’t just tell them the answer. I ask them questions like:
1. What is causing the problem?
2. What can solve it?
3. How can you solve it?
4. Have you solved something like this before? How did it go?
5. What do you need to solve it?
Asking questions, not just giving answers, can lead to great results. It’s better to ask and guide than to tell.
Some people are up for challenges, while others expect us to spoon-feed them and leave us.
This approach is my style.
It’s the hashtag#ktp culture.
Give a fish, they eat for day. Teach to fish, they eat always. Do you agree?
