Dear hashtag#ktp Team,
I want to talk about something important : why some of us might be hesitant to make decisions.
It’s natural to worry about the outcomes of our choices, especially if those decisions could lead to mistakes.
Here’s why this might be happening and what we can do about it:
1. Fear of Making Mistakes
The biggest reason some of us might hesitate is the fear of failure.
We worry that a wrong decision could cost money, lower team morale, or hurt our reputation at work.
This worry becomes stronger if we feel that mistakes are not tolerated well here.
2. Unclear Roles and Lack of Support Another issue is if we’re unsure about our responsibilities or what decisions we’re allowed to make.
This can make us feel insecure about deciding on important matters.
Moreover, if we feel unsupported by our managers, colleagues or even me, our hesitation can increase.
It’s crucial that everyone knows they are supported, even when things don’t go exactly as planned.
3. Lack of Proper Training or Tools : Sometimes, we might avoid making decisions because we feel unprepared or ill-equipped.
If we think we lack necessary information, tools, or training, it’s likely we’ll hold back on making important choices.
As your boss, I am committed to addressing these concerns.
I want all of us to feel confident and supported when making decisions.
Let’s work together to create an environment where we can take informed risks and learn from each experience, rather than fear it.
Thank you for your hard work and dedication.
Best regards,
Koh Teck Peng
