Life is full of challenges, and sometimes things don’t go as planned. I know this from personal experience.
I took the SPM (Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia) twice. The first time, in Senior Middle 2, I didn’t get a credit in Malay and was left feeling unsatisfied. Determined to improve, I retook the exam in Senior Middle 3. Despite my efforts, I still didn’t get the Malay credit, and neither time did I achieve an A in SPM.
After high school, I set my sights on the National University of Singapore (NUS). My first attempt at gaining admission was right after graduating from Foon Yew High School, via the NUS entrance examination.
Unfortunately, I didn’t make it. Undeterred, I decided to study for my A levels and try again a year and a half later. Despite my hard work and perseverance, I failed once more.
I hope will inspire you that “Failure is Not the End!”
Failing an exam or not getting into your dream university does not define your worth or potential. It’s simply a part of the learning process. Each failure teaches you something valuable and brings you one step closer to your goals.
To all the young people out there facing setbacks and challenges, I want to encourage you to keep going. Life has many rounds, and each one presents new opportunities for growth and success.
Don’t get discouraged or give up. Keep moving forward, adapt when necessary, and always believe in your potential.
Learning never stops, and hard work is the key to overcoming any obstacle. Your journey is just beginning, and there are countless opportunities ahead.
Embrace them with determination and a positive mindset.
