I bought a rubber band and took it to a meeting with the hashtag#ktp managers last Friday.
I asked every hashtag#ktp manager to wear this rubber band on their wrist during our meeting.
Whenever my managers start to say/think something bad or remembers something that makes them unhappy, they should pull the rubber band a little and let it go so it snaps on their wrist either themselves or by the manager beside her.
This action helps stop the bad thought right away. The idea is simple but helpful.
This method is called “thought stopping.”
It’s a way to help our minds stop focusing on negative things and start thinking more positively.
When we keep doing this, our brains learn to not stay stuck on negative thoughts on “can not!” “impossible!” “my people is bad!”
I brought this up in our management meeting because I believe that if our managers think more positively, they can lead better and make smarter decisions.
This rubber band trick is a small step we can take to make our workplace more positive.
