As a hobby photographer, understanding what makes top photographers’ work special is truly eye-opening.
Take Evan Vucci’s iconic shot of Trump. While most people would have ducked for cover, Vucci captured a historic moment. His calm under pressure, perfect angle, and timing resulted in a masterpiece.

To capture such moments, you need to understand the basics of good photography.
Look at the classic triangular composition in the photo: the central figure looking towards the sky, the person on the right looking at the camera, and the person on the left in a strong, warning stance. The success of a master’s work often lies in the details.
Here’s how I plan to apply these techniques:
- Positioning
Always move to where you can get the most information in your shot. A front view often captures more detail than a side view. - Composition
Look for backgrounds and elements that add meaning to your photo. - Continuous Shooting
Take many shots in quick succession to increase your chances of capturing the perfect moment.
Everyone is talking about Trump’s speech; they’re all asking about the camera model (Sony A9 III) and lens specs (24mm).
Do you know what camera model I carry?
