This November, as KTP & Company celebrates its 25th anniversary, it’s the perfect time to tell you why we’re named KTP.
It’s not just a random choice, but a necessity because of strict rules and our commitment to doing things right.

Twenty-five years ago, when I was about to start my own auditing firm, I wanted a name that would stand for tradition and trust.
My 1st Choice Name – KOH & Company …
I first thought “KOH & Company” would be perfect because it showed we were all in this together.
But the Ministry of Finance (MOF) had other ideas. They said the name was too similar to another company in Johor Bahru somemore and could cause confusion.
So, the MOF says if you’re an auditing firm, you have to use the auditor’s name. When they didn’t approve “KOH & Company,”
KTP & Company …
I had to think quickly and chose my initials: KTP, from Koh Teck Peng.
Some might think I chose it just to make the brand personal, but really, it was the only way to meet the MOF’s rules. Choosing KTP & Company wasn’t about ego or showing off.
Now, 25 years later, the name KTP reminds us of how we started—by sticking to the law and being dedicated to our clients.
