Last week, something quietly powerful happened at KTP.
Not a major assignment completed. Not a group of clients bidded.

But a simple act of leadership that reminded me why I do what I do.
It started on Wednesday. Our training room filled up quickly.
This time, it wasn’t an external speaker. It wasn’t me. It was one of our own—Mr. Arthur.
The moment he started, I knew it was different.
No fluff. No textbook copy-paste. Just practical, straight-to-the-point sharing.
He began by gently walking our colleagues through the basics of auditing—not just to fulfill a training requirement, but to build understanding.
In 40 minutes, he covered:
• ISA 200: Overall Objectives of the Independent Auditor
• ISA 230: Audit Documentation
• ISA 300: Planning an Audit
• ISA 315: Risk of Material Misstatement
• ISA 500: Audit Evidence
• ISA 520: Analytical Procedures
He even talked the concept of audit assertions and risk assessment. What struck me most was the clarity.
Then came Thursday.
This time, it was Ms. Chai Shi Qing—our in-manager, affectionately known as Sqchai. The session was on deferred tax—a topic even experienced staff find intimidating.
But she handled it with calm authority, over Zoom, speaking with such clarity that even the fresh grads could follow.
She covered:
• Key concepts of deferred tax
• Temporary differences
• Deferred tax liability vs asset
• The thought process behind the working paper
And she made it look easy.
I’ve always believed that real growth happens internally … not from external trainers or consultants but when your own team becomes the source of learning.
It creates ownership. It builds culture. It deepens respect.
When managers take time out of their packed schedules to train others, it sends a message louder than any speech:
We care about your growth. Because we’ve walked the path, and now we want to light it for you.
To Mr. Arthur and Ms. SqChai…a big thank you. For showing up. For stepping up. For sharing your time, knowledge, and heart.
You reminded all of us that leadership isn’t just about leading. Sometimes, it’s about teaching. About passing the torch.
I am HAPPY boss.
