Today I want to give a special shout-out to our manager, Ms. Chong Chee Ling

Why? Because she recently took the initiative to write a technical update on Withholding Tax (WHT) payment via the MyTax portal.

The best part?
Nobody asked her to do it.
No deadline.
No instruction from me.

It all started when one of our clients reached out, a bit lost on how to make WHT payment through MyTax. Instead of just solving that one case, Ms. Choong thought bigger :
“If one client is facing this issue, maybe others are too.”

So she sat down, researched, and wrote a step-by-step guide. Clear. Practical. Straight to the point. Exactly what SMEs need.

So thank you, Ms. Choong.
Your write-up may look like “just a tax update.”
But to me, it’s a reminder that initiative creates impact.

Before You Start :
MyTax login (ID type, ID number, password)
Payer details (company name, income tax no.)
Payee (non-resident) details (name, address, country, tax ref if any)
Payment info (nature, gross amount, date, rate)
Bank account ready for FPX

Step 1: Log In
Go to mytax.hasil.gov.my → enter ID Type, ID No, Password → Log Masuk.

Step 2: Open e-WHT
On dashboard → Perkhidmatan ezHasil → select e-WHT.

Step 3: Select Form
Choose CP37 (or CP37 Audit & Siasatan if relevant).

Step 4: Fill in Payer Details
Check income tax number, name, and address. Confirm accuracy.

Step 5: Fill in Payee Details
Enter non-resident’s info (name, address, country, tax ref if any).

Step 6: Enter Deduction Particulars
Insert payment details (Royalty/Services), gross amount, WHT rate, tax amount, date paid/credited → Save.

Step 7: Generate Bill Number
Click Save → Generate Bill Number.
Important: Cannot edit after bill number is generated.

Step 8: Choose Payment Channel
Select ByrHasil (online) or Kaunter Bayaran LHDNM (counter).

Step 9: Pay via FPX
On ByrHasil → verify details → FPX → complete with your bank → save confirmation.

After Payment : Download Official Receipt
Go back to e-WHT dashboard → Payment Statement
Filter by section (Seksyen 109)
Click Receipt No → download receipt for filing

Key Notes
Double-check before generating Bill Number.
Keep both Payment Statement and Receipt for audit/tax files.
FPX via ByrHasil is fastest for SMEs.
