KTP & Company PLT

Every year, one day before Chinese New Year, something magical happens in our office.

Tables become spotless.
Monitors stand straight.
Oranges appear beside keyboards.
Red angpow cards quietly sit behind screens.

If you walk in that day, you will think KTP are the most disciplined firm in Johor.

But peak season? Different story.

During super peak in July and January, I sometimes hear:

“Boss… second floor very messy now. Better you don’t come up first.”

And honestly, sometimes I really don’t go.

Because I know what I will see.

Files stacked like small mountains.
Cables hanging behind monitors.

I cannot tahan.

I am that type … neat and tidy weirdo.

Like Ben Affleck in The Accountant… but not until measuring picture frame alignment with ruler.

But close.

Years ago, when I toured the office and saw clutter everywhere, I didn’t scold.

I pasted yellow notes.

On monitors.
On drawers.
On chair.

“Please tidy up.”
“Clear before going home.”
“Tabletop not for storage.”

Some staff laughed.
Some thought I too particular.

But clients who visited always said:
“Your office very clean.”
“Different from other accounting firms.”

Even experienced staff who joined us noticed it.

Let’s me highlight that it is written in culture … “Keep your working place neat and tidy”

In audit and tax, we deal with risk, compliance and deadlines.

I believe if the table already chaotic, how to manage client chaos?

Messy desk often means messy thinking.
And sometimes… messy records.

Sometimes it is simple:

Clear your table.
File properly.
Respect your workspace.

Today I don’t paste yellow notes anymore. But before CNY, without reminder, the tables become spotless.
