Hey there, folks!
Let’s get real about something I have done with gulit- procrastination that creeps into my lives, causing I to put things off until the last minute.
But why does it happen?
Let’s dive into the reasons behind this procrastination phenomenon.
1. Fear of flopping
One big reason I procrastinate is fear of failure. I scared that if I start, I might mess up, and that’s a tough pill to swallow.
So, I wait, hoping that somehow, it’ll all magically work out without even trying
2. The foggy task trap:
Sometimes, a task can be as clear as it takes, and that’s when I procrastinate.
When something seems overwhelming , I would rather kick the can down the road than deal with it.
3. Instant gratification
In this modern age, we got social media, streaming, and a whole bunch of distractions just a click away.
Why work on that boring project when TikTok dances are calling. It’s the lure of instant pleasure over delayed accomplishment.
4. The perfectionism monster
Perfectionism can be a trap that leads to procrastination. When I set our standards sky-high, I fear not meeting them.
5. The missing mojo
Sometimes, procrastination hits ‘cause I just ain’t feeling it. The task does not align with my values or goals, and my motivation takes a hike.
Connecting the task to a bigger purpose or breaking it into more manageable bites can help reignite that fire.
I need to kill off the project by latest end of the week which is overdue for months. Now, how do I fight off this hashtag#procrastination beast?
