Attending a budget seminar might sound annual routine, but for a licensed tax agent like me, it’s more than just sitting in for updates.
It’s an essential part of our licensing renewal process, a professional gathering with peers, and a chance to get the latest insights directly from the best in the field.

Today’s CTIM-organized seminar hit all those marks and more, bringing together familiar faces, expert insights, and, of course, some good food!
As a licensed tax agent, attending these seminars is a requirement to keep my license up to date.
But beyond the compulsory aspect, it’s the lineup that makes it worth it.
Key speaker like Datin Azah Muhamad from the Inland Revenue Board, Mr. Tan Hooi Beng and Harvindar Singh from CTIM, and Ms. Amira Ahmad Azhar from Rosli Dahlan Saravana presented detailed updates that directly impact our daily work in tax compliance and advisory.
They broke down complex regulations and provided insights that are hard to come by elsewhere.
Networking is another big reason I make it a point to attend. It was a joy to catch up with fellow accountants and tax professionals exchanging ideas and perspectives on handling the latest tax changes.
One of the highlights for me was seeing Ms. Angela Lim, the CTIM chairwoman for the southern region branch, moderating the morning session.
She’s only a week away from welcoming her first child, yet her passion and dedication to the profession are unwavering. 🙏🙏🙏
And in the afternoon, my old friend Mr. Jesu Dason took over the moderation, adding his unique flair to the discussions.
Lastly, what’s a seminar without food?
The meals were a delight, making it feel almost like a mini-reunion where we could relax and enjoy good food while discussing updates.
All in all, the CTIM budget seminar wasn’t just another mandatory event; it was a well-rounded experience of learning, connection, and community.
