“Why do we need to present in person?”
“Can’t we just email or leave it on the system?”
“I hate it because it make me nervous!”
I get this question a lot from my colleagues, especially when deadlines are tight and everyone is juggling multiple tasks.

Let me explain why I insist on this practice, even when it feels like an extra step.
It’s not about making life difficult. it’s about building stronger auditors and smoother client engagements.
Here’s why in-person presentations matter:
- Clarity of Thought
When you need to explain something face-to-face, it forces you to think clearly and structure your ideas well.
There’s no room to hide behind jargon or a messy report.
It’s about sharpening your skills in explaining complex matters in a simple way. something every client appreciates. #softskill
- Immediate Feedback
In person, I can catch issues or gaps in real-time. A quick discussion can often solve problems faster than a back-and-forth email thread.
It also allows me to guide junior team members more effectively, especially when they’re unsure how to tackle an audit risk. #feedback
- Confidence Building
Presenting your work in person builds confidence. Yes, it can feel intimidating at first, but over time, you’ll find it easier to handle tough questions … whether they’re from me or a demanding client. #confidence - Encouraging Accountability
When you present, you take ownership of your work. It’s no longer just a file on the system.
It’s your analysis, your judgment, and your recommendations. This level of responsibility is what separates a good auditor from a great one.
So, the next time you’re asked to present in person, don’t think of it as a hassle.
Think of it as an opportunity to sharpen your skills, gain confidence, and elevate your audit work to the next level.
What do you think … worth the effort?
