“Thanks Lim! That was an excellent and well-written opinion. We will surely use it to execute.
We really appreciate the work KTP has done for us these past years.
You all have had your own personnel turnover challenges, but your service was always well executed.
Thank you so much!”

When I received this message, it wasn’t addressed to me.

It was addressed to Ms Lim Qiu Hui and her teammates, one of our longest-serving team members.
And that made me smile.
Because her journey at KTP didn’t start smoothly.
She actually failed her first interview.
Yes, she came in as a fresh grad—eager but not quite ready. We didn’t hire her that year.
But she didn’t give up.
A year later, she came back, more prepared.
This time, we gave her a chance.
Fast forward 17 years—she’s now a trusted leader in our firm.
Quiet, consistent, dependable.
That, to me, is the real meaning of 传承.
Not just passing down technical skills, but values : Resilience. Ownership. Accountability.
Let me humbly share something with our younger professionals …. especially those working under managers or seniors :
- Don’t carry everything for them.
Helping is good. But over-helping makes them dependent.
And I will stop growing too. Set healthy boundaries. Let them carry their share.
- Don’t become their personal assistant.
Blind obedience won’t earn my respect.
Be someone who thinks, questions, contributes.
- Don’t be their safety net.
Always covering for delays or fixing mistakes?
I’m draining and killing myself. And they’re not learning. Support wisely, but don’t make myself the permanent rescue team.
And when the client thanked her directly, I felt something every leader quietly hopes for ….
I’ve done my part. I’ve passed it on. 传承
P.S. I’ve been blessed with many great managers, both past and present. One day, I hope to share their stories too.
