KTP & Company PLT

I always have this ritual.
Bring my colleagues for hiking.
Running together.
Try rock climbing, spinning class, yoga and zumba class, even ATV rides at night.

Sounds fun, right?

But… reality check.

Every time I jio (invite), the group size gets smaller and smaller.
Sometimes only me and one or two loyal supporters show up.
Sometimes… zero reply.

Today, in one of our KTP management chats, we discussed our next sporting activity plan.
My managers gave me this hard truth:

“Nowadays the 20’s don’t like exercise. Got 公主病 (princess syndrome)!”

Ouch. But maybe got point.

I still remember — three colleagues MC the day after our spinning class last time.
Lesson learnt … Spinning too hardcore for first-timers!

So, we did a little audit.
Why is it so hard to get young colleagues to join sports?

Here’s the Top 5 Reasons I gathered (from real conversations, no joke):

  1. “So tired lah after work… want to chill only.” … Netflix > sweat.
  2. “Later muscle pain, cannot jalan tomorrow.”… Don’t want to risk MC (or maybe secretly want MC?).
  3. “Exercise boring leh.”… If no TikTok moment, not interested.
  4. “Too hot / too cold / too early / too late.” …
The weather and timing must be just ngam ngam nice.
  5. “Too dirty.”… People feel dirty on playing game or in the trial.

I cannot deny … lifestyle different already.
My generation : “OK, suffer a bit, sweat a bit, good for health.”

New generation: “Eh, why suffer? I want soft life.”

But deep down, I still believe…
One day, they will join us.

Maybe not spinning.
Maybe not hiking Gunung Pulai at 7am.

But maybe a fun pickleball game?
Or bowling? Or badminton? Or simple evening walk?

At KTP, I always say :
Work hard, play safe, stay healthy — together.

Any suggestion from my LinkedIn friends? What’s the best way to jio your young team for sports nowadays?
