I was 50 and still joined the IAFG. Crazy? Maybe

Every year,
MIA runs the Inter-Accounting Firm Games.
We never miss it.
We always join … win or lose
Even me, a 50-year-old partner, still trying to play with youngsters.

In 2022, I joined futsal.
We fought hard but lost harder. 21 goals conceded in three games.
Still fun,
because none of my players could really kick a ball.

In 2020, I played 3-on-3 basketball.
We almost reached round two.
But no one knew the rules.
We got fouled for everything even touching the ball after basket.

In 2024, I planned a comeback.
Then broke three ribs on a running trail.

This year, I told HR, “Register me for pickleball. Singles and doubles.”

Singles? Confident.
I’ve beaten my pickleball coach before with my tennis single playing history

Doubles? 50 50
My partner’s a beginner, but I can cover him like mixed double where man cover girl

Then he said, “Boss, I got overseas trip.”
So I quit pickleball in 2025.

Next, I chose pool.
I used to play snooker in my 20s to fund my ACCA.
A hustler back then.
Now I play for beer and money, not trophies.

HR checked the date.
Clashed with our firm outing.

So I quit pool in 2025

Badminton? Don’t ask me.
Dont play, never watch.
I’m a tennis guy through and through.

Maybe sports aren’t about winning every match but showing up again next year. Too bad, Pickleball and pool is my sayur.

So for 2025,
I’m out again.

See you in 2026!
Hopefully with no injuries and no excuses.
