LHDN has confirmed that the STAMPS system will be switched off after 31 December 2025.

From 1 January 2026, all stamp duty matters must be done through e-Duti Setem (e-DS) via MyTax. No parallel system. No extension.

The good news?

2026 is a grace year. Under the new Stamp Duty Self-Assessment System (STSDS), no penalty will be imposed in the first year for mistakes in stamp duty returns or incorrect information, as long as submissions are made between 1 January 2026 to 31 December 2026.

This grace period is meant for learning and adjustment not to delay action.

Why this matters to SMEs :
Stamp duty applies to tenancy agreements, share transfers, loan documents, and commercial contracts.

If your MyTax ID is not active, you cannot stamp documents. Delays mean penalties. Systems don’t listen to explanations.

My simple advice at KTP:
✔ Activate MyTax early
✔ Test e-Duti Setem now
✔ Don’t wait for last-minute December problems

System changes don’t hurt.
Late preparation does.

If you’re unsure, talk to KTP early. We prepare before penalties arrive.
