“Bro, first ride only. Easy ride lah.”
Famous last words.
This is not really a motorbike story.
It’s a story about three adults who thought we were “I-Can-Meh” than reality.
One and a half years ago, three of us (Michael, Josh and myself) started off-road on small bikes.
Kawasaki 150cc.

Same level.
Same fear.
Same beginner confidence.
Then day by day, we racun each other to upgrade to 300cc 2-stroke.
More power.
More ego.
More “I can lah”.
Fast forward… all three bought second-hand 300cc bikes.
Then the joke began.
Not because of the bikes.
Because of us.
Idiot #1: Michael
Michael’s first solo ride on 300cc was supposed to be a simple “welcome ride”.
He fell… and fell again.
Energy drained. Brain blur.
Then he got lost.
Not “lost a bit”.
Lost until his voice finished shouting “help” in the trail.
In the end, a runner rescue him back.
First ride already become “Almost-Missing-Person” case.
Idiot #2: Me
My first ride was even more efficient.
One moment I was riding in the river.
Next moment, my bike slipped and went into the river.
Engine cannot start after that.
I just stood there, helmet on, staring at the bike like I was staring at my own life choices.
Two stranger bikers came.
Lecture me “WTF! Two old man in the trail!”
Just helped tow the bike out.
Idiot #3: Josh
Last weekend, Josh did his first ride on KTM 300cc.
We told him, “Should be easy ride before CNY.”
Then suddenly… battery mampus.
No river. No getting lost.
Just dead.
Again, a biker towed him back.
On the way to civilisation, Josh fell many times.
Even the rider towing him fell and suffered.
At one point, I lost count of how many times he went down.
Same ending, three times.
Three first rides.
Three disasters.
Three times we were rescued.
That day I told them:
“Next ride, before we start engine, we sembayang kuat kuat first.”
We laughed.
But the truth is simple:
3 idoit with the same fate … rescued by stranger.
