KTP & Company PLT

Last month, one client asked me, “Bro, why you don’t bring your colleagues for exercise already?”

Good question. Sit down first. Let me tell you the whole story as I have been very active with my colleagues all this years.

It all started during MCO. Cannot go anywhere right, so I exercise with my colleagues over Zoom.

I was so semangat that I went and signed up an Animal Flow course until I got certified. Certified trainer cum Chartered Accountant. All just to train my own staff for free.

Then I bought everyone a skipping rope. One person one, no kiasu. We skip together every day. I can even clock 10,000 skips a month. And let me be humble, I am not even the best one in the company.

After MCO I signed up a yoga class for my colleagues. Problem is, I was the only male in the class. Month after month, one lonely uncle sitting among all the ladies. After a while the other female yogis start looking at me like I am some chee kor pek. I swear I only wanted to touch my toes.

I even joined Zumba class with them a few times until I cannot tahan the fatty instructor

Then I brought them rock climbing. But you all know I am a mountaineer. When I see people climb like mummy. So painful in my heart watching.

I also jio them for indoor spin class. As a seasoned cyclist, of course I choose the advanced level. Why waste time on beginner. Result? Next day 3 to 4 colleagues on MC. Reason: kaki sakit.

Pickleball? Forget it. They better stick to badminton.

I even trained a few colleagues until they completed their 21km. I became their pacer during the half marathon. Count breathing for them, push them until the finishing line.

Trail walk? JB, Senai, Kulai, Plentong, all also been there with them. I am a seasoned hash harrier, house runner some more. Trail is basically my backyard. Always very short one !

So last week, I WhatsApp my male managers. for a Johor night run 10km end of July. I already signed up the 21km.

If they all join, I drop down and pace them for the 10km. Means I sacrifice my own race for them. Very generous but both reject.

So why I don’t push them anymore? I really tried and understood
Exercise cannot be forced.
Fitness must come from inside.
Health cannot be outsourced to the boss.

So I stopped dragging people to the start line.

I just keep running and cycling up myself. I will try again after peak to them. Who know?
