After Chinese New Year, we started our AI transformation journey with the engagement of an AI consultant.
Now it is almost June.
And I realised something painful.
The biggest problem may not be my people and my consultant

The biggest problem may be me.
Maybe I am too ambitious.
Maybe I am too greedy.
Maybe I am too impatient.
Maybe I am also a perfectionist boss.
I want the best AI tool.
The best workflow.
The best automation.
The best result.
The best of the best in the fastest time
In my head, AI transformation should be very powerful.
One click.
Everything runs.
Documents auto-download.
Files auto-rename.
Audit working papers auto-populate.
Tax queries auto-draft.
Reports auto-generate.
Staff happy.
Boss happy.
Client also happy.
But real life is not like that.
I kept learning Claude, n8n, AI agents, automation, prompt engineering.
I watched tutorials.
I tested tools.
I felt very busy.
I felt very modern.
But when I looked at our company operation with progress…
But some work was still manual.
But some workflow was still messy.
But some documents were still chased through WhatsApp.
But some information was still copied from PDF to Excel.
Then one truth hit me.
Learning AI is not the same as transforming the company.
And chasing perfect AI transformation may be even worse.
One workflow improved?
I say not enough.
One small automation working?
I say can be better.
One colleague started using AI?
I say still too slow.
That is the danger of a perfectionist boss.
I don’t celebrate small progress.
I only see what is not done yet.
I say I want AI transformation.
But actually, I want miracle.
I want AI to solve 25 years of messy workflow in 2 months.
Transformation is messy.
It is slow.
It is painful.
But at least I started.
Slowly, we are progressing bit by bit.
One workflow at a time.
One automation at a time.
One mistake at a time.
One small improvement at a time.
Maybe real AI transformation is not one big dramatic change.
Maybe it is just removing one stupid manual step at a time.
I am in the super peak to meet deadline.
Don’t let perfection kill progress.
Bit by bit is still progress.
Grateful to my project team effort.
Kudos. Ganbatte. Tahniah
